Grow Some Fresh Air!

CLEVELAND, OH -- DuneCraft is a worldwide leader with its innovative themed terrariums and sprouting kits, and has found a way to include the benefits of plants in every aspect of its business! The company recently moved into a 170,000 square foot building and has turned their office into a giant terrarium! A variety of air cleaning plants envelop the entire office thus creating its own biosphere. Plants include Areca palms, Dracaena, Peace Lilies as well as many other tropical plants. Jasmine offers aromatherapy with its sweet fragrance making it a very calming atmosphere.

The average American spends 90 percent of their times indoors, which is why the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency ranks indoor air quality as one of the top five environmental risks to public health. Placing common household plants in various rooms of your home is rated as one of the top five ways to grow fresh air!

DuneCraft believes in its products and the benefits they can reap. In that vein, the new office is complete with 3 extensive ponds, and a tropical themed office, to combat just these problems. There are over 150 tropical plants in the new office that provide privacy and division between departments as well as oxygen and air cleaning abilities! The three ponds contain over 6,000 gallons of water with koi and live plants growing in them, as well as moss in the bottom.

Mock Ponds, a master pond builder that put in DuneCraft’s 3 ponds has nothing but excitement for the ecosystem that’s been created. “This is the new 8th wonder of the world! What I enjoyed most about this project was the ecosystem with koi swimming around and live plants in the water, it’s like bringing the outside in!”

In research designed to create a breathable environment for a NASA lunar habitat, noted scientist Dr. B.C. Wolverton discovered that houseplants are the best filters of common pollutants such as ammonia, formaldehyde, and benzene. Hundreds of these poisonous chemicals can be released by furniture, carpets, and building material, and then trapped by closed ventilation systems, leading to the host of respiratory and allergic reactions now called Sick Building Syndrome.

As well as purifying the air we breathe the presence of indoor plants have also been shown to have many other beneficial effects such as reduction of stress and sound levels, absorption of carbon dioxide and emission of oxygen refreshing the air and many more!

DuneCraft’s motto has always been “Bring Learning to Life.” The company is constantly finding new and unique ways to do this. With the move to the new office and creating an out of the box environment coupled with the introduction of new products twice a year, DuneCraft’s empire keeps growing!
