The Fly Trap Game is very interactive, educational, and great for people of all ages! The basic premise of the game is to catch as many flies as possible with the animated fly trap.

As Dawn Stokes from Great Planes exclaims, “To convert an existing product into a game is a really great idea!” DuneCraft has always believed in the power of plants, and their ability to entertain and educate. The Fly Trap Game is an innovative way for DuneCraft to bring learning to life. Stay tuned for more advergame releases this year!

There are many levels in the game, and there are multiple, competing fly traps in the higher levels! Upon completing a level in the game, there are educational snippets about fly traps. There are also links within the game to purchase fly traps! Since being released, the Fly Trap Game has received several five-star awards from some of the top-rated Internet download sites!

Advergaming by definition is the incorporation of brand messaging and/or images into the action of a video game. Through research conducted by the University of Florida it was found that advergames are a strong brand-retention medium that evoke positive brand feelings. It was also found that advergames induce vivid images that improve memory of the material.

The interactive, measurable and enjoyable nature of advergames provides a significant opportunity for not only delivering brand messages and experiences, but for increasing the flow of information about consumers to businesses. The advergame industry is expected to generate $312.2 million by 2009, up from $83.6 million in 2004, according to the Yankee Group, a research firm in Boston. As found by Jupiter Media Matrix, 50% of gamers play an advergame for an average of 25 minutes, and 90% of players who receive a challenge from a friend play the game and respond back with their scores and statistics. According to Entertainment Software Association, 42% of gamers play online games one or more hours a week. As found by Forrester Research, one of the biggest benefits of advergames is who they reach.
